Just completed our beginners wheel throwing course and thirsty for more?


Then this course is for you - a little bit of guidance with a lot more freedom, this course is for those who want the flexibility in class to do what they want but still might need some guidance from our instructors. 


This course will follow a simple 4 week model that will guide you through everything to do with throwing clay on the wheel and expand upon concepts taught in our beginners wheel classes and runs for an extended time of 2.5 hours. 


Our pricing is simple, you get a 4 Week Term for $320. Glazing and firing of two PTC polystyrene boxes of stuff is included in this price. Over 4 weeks we'll guide you through the process of making on the wheel, your course will follow the following structure: 


Week 1: Studio introduction & wheel throwing
Week 2: Wheel throwing continued 
Week 3: Turning, carving & handles  
Week 4: Glazing 


Our courses are designed for ages 16 and up.

Please ensure that you are available to attend all the sessions included in this block, no refunds or make up sessions can be offered if you cannot attend a class.


This class is held at our sunny studio in Taren Point.


Wear some comfortable pants & shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and an apron or towel.


This class is for wheel throwing only, if you wish to explore a bit of handbuilding please book into a handbuilding workshop. 


Whilst we take great care of your pieces during the firing process it is not uncommon for ceramics to crack and break during the firing process.


Part Time Ceramics does not take any liability for broken or damaged pieces.


Our classes do have a minimum number of sign ups required to run the class. In the rare event that a class doesn't have enough students enrolled, we will have to cancel and reschedule your booking.

DUE TO STORAGE LIMITATIONS WE CANNOT STORE WORK FOR LONGER THAN 4 MONTHS AFTER YOUR CLASS DATE. WORK THAT IS NOT COLLECTED WITHIN THIS TIME PERIOD WILL BE DONATED.
