Beginners Wheel Throw

About this experience

Designed for complete beginners and those who want a little bit more help throwing. This course will follow a simple 4 week course model that will guide you through everything to do with throwing clay on the wheel. 

Our pricing is simple, you get a 4 Week Term for $280. Glazing and firing is included in this price. Over 4 weeks we'll guide you through the process of making on the wheel, your course will follow the following structure: 

Week 1: Studio introduction & wheel throwing
Week 2: Wheel throwing continued 
Week 3: Turning, carving & handles  
Week 4: Glazing 

Our courses are designed for ages 16 and up.

Use of equipment
Glazes
Firing of pieces completed on the wheel in the program
Clay 

What to bring: 

An apron
Water bottle
Clothes you dont mind getting a bit dirty

Please ensure that you are available to attend all the sessions included in this block, no refunds or make up sessions can be offered if you cannot attend a class.

This class is held at our sunny studio in TAREN POINT.

Wear some comfortable pants & shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and an apron or towel.

This class is for wheel throwing only, if you wish to explore a bit of handbuilding please book into a handbuilding workshop. 

Whilst we take great care of your pieces during the firing process it is not uncommon for ceramics to crack and break during the firing process. Part Time Ceramics does not take any liability for broken, lost or damaged pieces.

Our classes do have a minimum number of sign ups required to run the class. In the rare event that a class doesn't have enough students enrolled, we will have to cancel and reschedule your booking.

DUE TO STORAGE LIMITATIONS WE CANNOT STORE WORK FOR LONGER THAN 4 MONTHS AFTER YOUR LAST CLASS DATE. WORK THAT IS NOT COLLECTED WITHIN THIS TIME PERIOD WILL BE DONATED.
