Firing Service

We offer firing for external work (non-student) for Cone 6 Glaze and cone 06 bisque only.

Here is the link to our drop off hours for Taren Point for you to bring your work in: https://www.parttimeceramics.com.au/collections/collections-taren-point

These hours can change so check them before you pop in.

Once you have dropped off your pieces at out studio for firing, you’ll need to check back with us in a couple weeks or so to see if they have been through their first bisque firing. We only run firings when there is enough work to fill a kiln load, ensuring that we do our bit to help reduce electricity consumption.

Once your items are bisque fired, they are ready to be collected, glazed and then returned to the studio for their final firing. If you do not have glazes, they are available to purchase at any reputable pottery supplies store or you can book into one of our glazing sessions hosted at the end of each month. When purchasing external glazes please ensure they are cone 6. Brands we recommend include: Clayworks, Mayco & Amaco.

Please ensure your name in clearly marked on each piece you drop off for firing. We are able to hold your work for more than 2 months. Unclaimed work will be donated or recycled. Kiln mishaps happen, whilst we do our best to mitigate them we cannot accept any liability or responsibility for cracked, broken or lost work.

Please ensure that your glazes and clay are suited to a cone 6 firing. Damage to our kilns or kiln shelves could incur a fee of $25 for cleaning or the cost of replacement of the damaged part.
